I obsessively searched for the symbolism behind an owl. For some reason, it kept showing up in my thoughts and I knew it inevitably was going to be in a photo. The owl, is emblematic of a deep connection with wisdom and intuitive knowledge. Apparently, if you have an owl as a totem or power animal you’re likely to have the ability to see what’s hidden to most. When the spirit animal guides you, you can see the true reality, beyond illusion and deceit, The owl offers inspiration and guidance required to explore the unknown and the magic of life.
So, I headed out and bought 250 feet of rope, spent hours wrapping myself up (no easy task let me tell you). The idea being that if we are so caught up in our lives, too busy to see what is right in front of us, we often miss the magical inspiration and beauty of the world that surrounds us. People often refer to getting tied up in something as a cause for tardiness, so I thought what better way to illustrate this inability to see than to literally tie myself up….unable to see the magic of life surrounding me. The owl on the other hand, is attempting to set me free…to unwind me from all the obstructs my view, enabling me to see the magic of life around me.
