I have spent many hours preaching to my children the importance of kindness. “Be kind” and “that isn’t kind” are phrases they have probably heard me say thousands of times. So often, we are critical of other’s without thinking twice. I have caught myself being critical of others…passing judgement and demonstrating decreased tolerance for ideas that are different that mine. If we are honest, it has happened to all of us. I’m sure we have all done it and we have all had it happen to us. It is human nature. Whether or not we realize it, we have the ability to impact someone else’s self esteem and self worth and the way they perceive the world by the things we say and do. We know that we’re all different, have our own opinions and not everyone is going to agree with everything all of the time. Having said that, the bottom line is as it always has been. If you can’t say something nice, well, you know the rest……. Let’s work on kindness.
People in glass houses….well glass jars in this case, shouldn’t throw stones.
