Past Their Prime
Past Their Prime is a photographic series that explores aging, impermanence, and the cultural obsession with youth and perfection. Candy wrappers, once vibrant and ephemeral, are transformed into portraits that echo the human body: folded, stretched, stained, and stitched. Removed from their original context, these objects become metaphors for how society discards or overlooks what is no longer deemed “perfect” or desirable. The work examines fragility, resilience, and transformation, inviting viewers to reconsider notions of value, beauty, and time. Bright colors and familiar branding contrast with meticulous repairs, creating a tension between attraction and the unexpected.
